Here are my current hits + misses. And before I forget, since Google Reader will be closing down (7/1), I would like to invite you to follow me via Bloglovin' + Hellocotton (in the sidebar). Or you can always follow me via my other social networks (also in the sidebar).
Hit: If you were an avid follower on my Wordpress blog last year, you've probably heard me rave about this product time and time again. My Clinique-3 step system (i'm a skintype 3 // oily combination skin) has been like Jesus to my skin. I love using it with my Clarisonic during my nightly skin routine. It doesn't have much of a fragrance to it and it makes my skin look flawless! Yes, it is pricey ($60 at Macy's for the medium sized bottles + $43 at Sephora for the same size), but I'm looking forward to repurchasing this product as soon as i'm finished with it.
Miss: Since I was running low on my Clinique 3-step system, I decided to pick up something inexpensive. The Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control cleanser and toner scream, "USE ME!" because of it's oil-free promise, but it is in fact not oil-free. It made my face oilier and it broke out like crazy. I wouldn't recommend this product to someone with very oily skin.
Hit: I received three of these Victoria's Secret mini sized fragrances with three other VS perfumes in a Christmas gift set from my best friend. She knows me too well and must love me very much because the set came with two of my favorite fragrances and one new one! Very Sexy, Gorgeous and Bombshell are my all-time favorites and I rotate the three within the week. They smell fresh, clean + flowery and you only need three pumps (or less) because they are very strong + sweet smelling. Thanks bffl for the wonderful gift!
Hit: I got these cute sample mascaras as a gift from the Benefit Brow Bar at Macy's a couple of weeks ago and they are badass! The two together are a perfect match and I wish they could last forever! (When used properly with a steady hand), they can make your lashes look long and voluminous!
Miss: MAC's Matchmaster foundation is an ultimate miss in my makeup book. I went into MAC looking for a matte foundation, something to suck up all of the oil. I was recommended this product and it was love at first sight. Every application after the initial one slipped right off my face, made me look orange and it made me extremely oily; it basically did everything I didn't want it to do.
Those are my current hits + misses. *Disclaimer: All of these products were bought with my own money and I have reviewed them according to how they worked for me. I am not affiliated with any of these companies and the reviews are based on my own personal opinion.
Have you tried any of these products? Are any of them a hit or miss in your book?
